Terms of service

Last updated 8 October 2026.

These terms cover your Driftwire account and the online side of the game: the leaderboards, ghosts, published tracks and liveries. By creating an account you accept them. Questions go to [email protected].

Your account

  • One account per person. Use an email address you can read: it is how you get back in.
  • Keep your password to yourself. What happens on your account is on you.
  • Pick a name that does not insult anyone or pass for someone else. We may rename or remove an account that does.

Fair play

A time counts only if you drove it. Every time is checked by replaying its inputs, and we may remove times or ban accounts that break these rules:

  • no modified game, changed handling or other tools that alter the driving;
  • no bots, scripts or tool-assisted runs posted as your own;
  • no attacking, overloading or probing the service.

Tracks you publish

Tracks you build are yours. When you publish one, you license it to everyone under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0: anyone, Driftwire included, may race, copy, change and share it, also as part of the game, as long as they credit you and share their changed versions under the same license. The game and this site credit you by showing your name with the track, and the name of each co-author who accepted the credit; co-authors share the credit and the license. A license you have given cannot be taken back, though you can remove the track from the service. Publish only tracks you made, and keep names clean. We review published tracks before listing them and may refuse or remove any.

Liveries you publish

A livery you paint and publish to the gallery is shown to everyone, with your name, and any player may wear it. Paint only what you made yourself. A published livery may not show:

  • insults, hate, sexual content or threats, in pictures or in words;
  • someone else's logo, trademark or artwork without their permission;
  • real people's names or faces without their permission;
  • links, advertising or anything that passes for the game's own messages.

Players can report a livery. We look at every report and may hide a livery, which takes it out of the gallery and off every car wearing it, or close the account of whoever published it. You can take your own livery out of the gallery at any time; players already wearing it keep it.

The service

Online play is free and comes as it is. We work to keep it running, but it may go down, change, or stop, and times may be reset when the game's driving changes. Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time, on your page on this site or in the game under Online. We may close an account that breaks these terms.

Law

These terms are governed by Spanish law.
