Privacy policy

Driftwire is a free racing game. This page says what we keep about you, why, and how to get it removed. Write to [email protected] with any question or request.
What we keep
For your account: the name you pick, your email address and your region. Your password is stored only in a form that cannot be turned back into it.
From your play: your best time on each track, the replay of it (the inputs you drove), any track you publish with its picture, and your car as you dressed it in the garage: its colours, its livery and a picture of it, and any livery you publish, with who copied or reported it.
From your connection: your IP address, which every request to the game's server or this site shows us. We use it to stop abuse such as password guessing, and our web logs keep it for 14 days.
Without an account, the game only downloads public things, such as the boards and the leaders' ghosts, and uploads nothing about you.
Why
- To run your account and the leaderboards, which is the service you sign up for.
- To keep the boards fair and the service up: checking times, stopping cheats, spam and attacks.
- To email you a code when you create an account or reset your password. We send nothing else: no newsletters, no adverts.
What others see
Your name, region, the day you joined, your times, your place in the ranking and your replays are public: they show on the boards, on your page on this site and as ghosts in other players' games. Your car, its livery and its picture are public, and so are the tracks and liveries you publish. Who reported a livery is never shown. Your email address is never shown.
Who else handles it
We do not sell or share your data. Traffic to the game and this site passes through Cloudflare, which protects the service from attacks and sees your IP address to do so. When you create an account, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person is filling in the form, from signals your browser sends it, under Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy terms. We send email from our own mail service.
How long
We keep your account and what you uploaded until you delete it. Deleting your account removes it with all your times, replays and tracks; copies in our backups are gone within 14 days.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can object to how we use it. Delete your account yourself on your page on this site, or in the game under Online. For anything else, email us. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the AEPD.
Age
You need to be 14 or older to create an account, or have a parent or guardian's consent.
This site
We set no cookies on this site and run no tracking or analytics. When you log in, your browser keeps the login in its own storage until you log out.
Changes
If we change this policy, the date at the top changes.
